All we needed was this honesty. Russian President Vladimir Putin told the United Nations atomic agency that the Kremlin plans to restart the nuclear power plant Ukraine of Zaporizhzhia, currently occupied by Russia, further increasing the risks of an accident at Europe’s largest nuclear power plant
. The Wall Street Journal writes that the International Atomic Energy Agency in Vienna has received technical reports, written by a small group of inspectors sent to the plant, which suggest that Russia is trying to bring Zaporizhzhia back into operation by this year.
Russia’s objective, according to the IAEA, appears to be to bring at least one reactor out of the six existing ones back into operation.
