The ambassador of El Salvador in the United States, Milena Mayorga, came out in the past about certain malicious news or information that aims to detract from the efforts promoted by the Government of President Nayib Bukele, in support of the diaspora and the Salvadoran people.

“In case anyone doubts the incredible work of President Nayib Bukele, I reiterate, putting a tax on remittances has never been under discussion,” the diplomat stressed through her official X account.

In this way, Mayorga denies that there is the possibility of a type of tax on remittances, on the contrary, recently the Legislative Assembly reformed the Income Tax Law so that family remittances or any capital from abroad be introduced into the country free from paying this tax, regardless of the amount, in order to encourage investment in El Salvador.

Ambassador Mayorga highlighted that thanks to the support of the Cyan Bank, Salvadorans will now not pay taxes on their transactions, whether national or foreign.
