Qatar Fund for Development has concluded a cooperation agreement with the International Committee of the Red Cross to support the economic security program in Libya.

The Qatari newspaper Al-Sharq reported that this agreement came on the sidelines of the Fifth United Nations Conference on the Least Developed Countries, and is considered a response to the urgent needs of those affected by the Libyan crisis.

For his part, Khalifa bin Jassim Al Kuwari, Director General of Qatar Fund for Development, said that the joint program will contribute to supporting the peace process by securing basic needs, enhancing people’s resilience and ensuring self-sufficiency for themselves and their families.

The President of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), Mirjana Spoleric-Eger, expressed her happiness with the Qatar Fund for Development’s support for projects aimed at helping families affected by the conflict in Libya to secure their basic needs.
