A Queensland father is reeling after his partner was accused of poisoning their young daughter, allegedly seeking fame and financial benefit through their popular TikTok account. The harrowing case, which has captivated and horrified audiences, reveals a disturbing alleged scheme that left the child fighting for her life and the father facing unimaginable loss.
A FatherS Nightmare Unfolds
The father, whose identity is legally protected, first became suspicious when medical professionals raised concerns about his daughter’s persistent and worsening health issues.He recounted to A Current Affair the agonizing realization that the person he loved and planned a future with was the subject of a police inquiry. “It’s hard because everybody keeps saying I should’ve recognised the signs that something was, that some sort of foul play was going on, the last thing your ever going to expect is the person that you’re head over heels for, you’re going to marry, have children with, building a future with, that’s not the person you point fingers at,” he said.
The investigation revealed allegations that the mother administered prescription medication, specifically Tegretol (carbamazepine), to her daughter without medical approval. “They just told me that [our daughter] has Tegretol in her system,” the father recalled telling the mother, to which she responded, “Yep, they told me that too.” His desperate question,”why the f— would she have Tegretol in her system?” went unanswered.

Police allege the mother exploited her daughter’s illness for social media attention and monetary gain. The family had cultivated a critically important following on TikTok,documenting the child’s medical struggles and soliciting donations. “The social media page was getting lots of likes, lots of comments, lots of sympathy, people were invested in your baby girl, in her illness, how she was going,” a reporter for A Current Affair explained to the father.
The situation escalated to a critical point, with the child experiencing multiple cardiac arrests and requiring resuscitation. “She almost died several times, several cardiac arrests, several peri arrests,” the father stated, visibly emotional. Despite the child’s deteriorating condition, updates were consistently shared online, accompanied by pleas for support. The family reportedly received approximately $60,000 in donations. The father believes this was a fabrication. “She stood in front of all those people, told them of this condition that she had supposedly had that she certainly did not have,” he told A Current Affair.

It might not feel like it now because I don’t get to see them very often but I do love them and I do miss them and I’m doing everything I can to get them to come home.”
