Directed by debutant Ajith Mampally, the new film stars Pepe as the lead and features Kannada actor-director Raj B Shetty in a pivotal role. Raj B Shetty joined the film while the shooting of the yet-to-be-titled film was progressing in Kollam. He came to announce his presence in Malayalam cinema and was received with flowers by the producer of the film, Sophia Paul.
This is the seventh film produced by Weekend Blockbusters after the huge success of ‘RDX’. Raj B Shetty is an actor who attracted the attention of the audience with the films ‘Garuda Gamana Vrishabha Vahana’ (2021), ‘Kanthara’ (2022), ‘777 Charlie’ (2022) and ‘Tobi’ (2023). This film with Pepe is Raj B Shetty’s third Malayalam film. The first film is ‘Raudra’, whose post-production work is in progress. Raj B Shetty is also playing an important role in Mammootty’s ‘Turbo’. He came to Kollam for the shooting of this movie from the sets of ‘Turbo’.
The film, which features the biggest budget of Pepe’s career as a solo film, will hit the theaters as an Onam release. Weekend Blockbusters are the ones who are releasing the film in theaters. Scripted by Roylyn Robert, Satish Chudakkal and Ajith Mampally, the film tells the story of a long-running maritime conflict. A huge set of a 100 feet boat has been prepared for the film. This amazing set has been prepared in Kollam Kuripuzha. The shooting of the film will be done in Rameswaram, Anchuteng, Kurankulam, Varkala and Kollam.
Set in the backdrop of the ocean, this film is completely a revenge action drama. The film is a glimpse into a hardworking community that works at sea for days, realistically portraying the culture and life of the coastal region. Although there have been many movies set on the sea, the crew claims that this is the first such revenge story. The presentation of the film is enough to excite the audience. More than 70 days of shooting, the action scenes in the sea are being shot. Vikram More, who composed the scenes for films like ‘KGF Chapter 1’ and ‘Kantara’, is also working behind the action scenes of this film.
Newcomer Pratibha is playing the heroine. Gautami Nair and Shabir Kallarakkal are playing the lead roles in the film and the film also stars Sarath Sabha, Nandu, Siraj (of RDX fame), Jayakurup, Abha M Raphael and Fauzia Mariam Antony in other roles.
