In Rajinikanth’s upcoming movie ‘Lal Salaam’, the song ‘Thimiri Eguda’ features the voice of late playback singers Bamba Bhagya and Shakul Hameed using AI technology. AR Rahman, the film’s music director, has said that he has received due permission from their families.

“We have obtained proper permission from their families to use their voice through AI and have given them a suitable reward. AR Rahman tweeted, “Technology can never become a threat or a nuisance if used properly.”

When it was reported that the late singers’ voices were used in the film Lal Salaam by AI, AR Rahman gave an explanation while the netizens questioned whether ‘proper permission was obtained from their families for this?’

Rajinikanth played the role of ‘Moideen Bhai’ in Lal Salaam. Aishwarya Rajinikanth has directed the film. Both Vikrant and Vishnu Vishal are playing the lead roles. Former Indian cricket team captain Kapil Dev has played a cameo appearance in the film. Subhashkaran has produced the film on behalf of Lyca. Red Giant is releasing the film in Tamil Nadu.
