The Theater of Lloret hosts the premiere of the show in Catalonia this Friday Don Ramón María del Valle-Inclanwritten and directed by Xavier Albertí. With Pedro Casablanc as the protagonist, it is a co-production of the Teatro Español that premiered last March in Madrid.
The author and director from Lloret takes as reference the biography that Gómez de la Serna wrote about Valle-Inclán from his exile in Buenos Aires to invite the public to “discover an author about whom we think we know a lot and from whom we surely still have a lot to learn from him”. “Valle-Inclán has been explained to us in many ways, but the mask always ends up eating away at the character,” continues Albertí.
The show is part of this season’s theater program in Lloret, however also Lloret as Capital of Catalan Culture 2023. The mayor, Albert Robert, is moving forward in the autumn Lloret plans to host more shows by Xavier Albertí and dedicate a season to it taking advantage of the year of Lloret’s cultural capital.
