Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe has arrived in Britain to attend the funeral of the late British Queen Elizabeth II.
In this situation, due to the absence of the President in Sri Lanka, the Ministers of State have been appointed as Acting Ministers to manage his ministerial responsibilities.
Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe left Sri Lanka early yesterday morning by Emirates flight.
The president’s media wing announced that he went to Dubai and reached Britain from there.
Appointment of Ministers-in-Charge
Meanwhile, due to Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe’s absence in Sri Lanka, State Ministers have been appointed as Acting Ministers to manage his ministerial responsibilities.
Accordingly, Pramitha Bandara Thennagone has been appointed as Acting Defense Minister, Ranjith Siambalapidiya as Acting Finance Minister, Geeta Kumarasinghe as Acting Minister for Women, Child Affairs and Social Empowerment, Kanaka Herath as Acting Technology Minister and Amunugama as Acting Investment Promotion Minister, according to a press release issued by the President.
It is reported that President Ranil Wickremesinghe, who will attend the Queen’s funeral tomorrow, will return to Sri Lanka on the 21st.
