Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said today in a telephone conversation with the Speaker of the House of Representatives of the US Congress, Mike Johnson, that it is vital that US congressmen quickly approve a new package of military aid to Kiev, Reuters reported.
Republican Johnson has been delaying the introduction of the bill for additional military and financial aid to Ukraine worth $60 billion for months.
“The speedy passage of the bill on US aid to Ukraine in Congress is vital. We understand that there are different views in the House of Representatives on the issue, but it is of key importance that the topic of aid to Ukraine remains a unifying factor,” Zelensky wrote on the social network ” Ex”.
Ukrainian troops are on the defensive in the face of a shortage of artillery shells, the blocking of US military aid in the US Congress and the delay in the delivery of the promised quantities of ammunition from the European Union, BTA reported.
