The work has been designed by Rhodesian Nikos Kaseri, who is known for his artistic photographs that present in an exceptional way the uniqueness and particularity of the Dodecanese islands. It was presented at the “APHRODITEproject” exhibition in 2012 under the auspices of the Ministry of Education and Religion, Culture and Sports where more than 50 Greek and foreign artists participated who, on the occasion of the myth of the goddess Aphrodite, approach the adventure of the human body as a suffering subject using all the available tools of their art.

Nikos Kaseris painted a life-size color photo with ironwork. In the artistic rendering we observe 2 rods, in fact one of them penetrates the oxidation mark on the chest of Venus, forming

a cross. The artistic impression refers to at least three symbols:

· as a historical body focusing on the long period of existence of the statue of Venus and the hardships it has gone through in the various historical periods,

· as a body politic referring to the unhealed wound of the division of Megalonisos, the birthplace of the goddess,

· as a social body it symbolizes the social hardships, discrimination and violence women have suffered as a wider social perception and practice of sexuality.

The exhibition of the project in the central building of the Faculty of Humanities is a strong message for the awakening of the students that the fight for the elimination of Violence against Women is continuous.
