The self-proclaimed reincarnation of Buddha, Ram Bahadur Bomjan, also known as ‘Buddha Boy’, has been arrested in Nepal for allegedly molesting a minor girl in an ashram. The 33-year-old spiritual leader was taken into custody by the CIB (Central Investigation Bureau) after being on the run for several years.

Bomjan gained a following at a young age by showcasing his ability to meditate for days without eating, drinking, or sleeping. Followers believe he has the ability to meditate for months on end. However, allegations have surfaced that followers were physically and sexually harassed at the Sarlahi Ashram in Kathmandu, leading to the arrest of Bomjan.

The arrest is in connection with the rape of a minor girl, and authorities also seized 30 million Nepalese rupees and 22,500 dollars from his possession. This is not the first time Bomjan has faced accusations of harassment, as in 2010, numerous complaints were raised against him. He claimed to have physically assaulted those in the ashram for disturbing his meditation.

Additionally, Bomjan is also under investigation in connection with the disappearance of four people from the ashram. His arrest has sent shockwaves through Nepal, where he was once revered by his followers as a spiritual leader and the reincarnation of Buddha.

The case has brought to light the alleged abuse and manipulation carried out by individuals in positions of power within religious and spiritual communities. The arrest of Bomjan serves as a reminder of the importance of holding such individuals accountable for their actions, regardless of their perceived spiritual status.
