Reintegration of non-vaccinated caregivers: finally, the Minister of Health is considering it

by time news

An unexpected turn of events. Just a week earlier, the new Minister of Health François Braun affirmed during a hearing at the National Assembly that the reintegration of caregivers not vaccinated against Covid “is not topical”. Surprise: this Wednesday, he announced in the Senate the imminent referral to the High Authority for Health (HAS) and the National Council of Ethics (CCNE) on this “thorny subject”, reports 20 minutes.

“I am committed to seizing the health authorities on this particular issue in the coming days”, indicated François Braun in the Senate during a hearing on the “health watch and security” bill, then specifying that the request would be sent to HAS and CCNE “this weekend”.

Emphasizing that he wished to comply with “the advice of scientists”, the Minister of Health indicated that he would ask HAS and CCNE to respond to the referral “as quickly as possible”. He then plans to convene “very quickly” the unions of caregivers “to present these opinions to them and discuss the follow-up to be given”, wishing “to have a transparent discussion with them, (so) that everyone takes their responsibilities, not on ideas but precise scientific arguments”.

As a reminder, the President of the Republic Emmanuel Macron, now well known for adopting fluctuating positions according to the news, had already mentioned this track on April 29, without giving it any concrete follow-up.

Faced with the personnel crisis in hospitals, the opposition to the RN and LFI clamorously demand in the Assembly and on television sets the end of the vaccination obligation for professionals working in health establishments, social and medico-social.

On July 12, the rebellious French deputy Mathilde Panot pointed out the contradiction of the government which authorizes “Covid-positive caregivers” to practice while “Covid-negative but non-vaccinated caregivers do not have the right to do so” .

Same story on the side of the deputies of the National Rally who demand their immediate reinstatement in the face of the “alarming” situation of the public hospital.

Will the protest eventually bear fruit?
