Universities in Hong Kong removed two more Tiananmen monuments on Friday.

A Chinese university in the autonomous region on Friday removed a statue of the goddess of freedom created by art students in memory of the victims of the Tiananmen massacre.

Similarly, Lingnan University has also removed the swap image commemorating the Tiananmen massacre.

Earlier, the famous Tiananmen Monument at the University of Hong Kong was removed on Thursday.

Hundreds of people fighting for democratic reform in Tiananmen Square in the Chinese capital, Beijing, were massacred by the country’s security forces in 1989.

Various monuments were erected in their memory in Hong Kong.

In this context, British rule in Hong Kong was ceded to China in 1997. At the time, it was promised that the people of Hong Kong would be granted democratic rights not found in other parts of China. However, those promises were gradually broken. The Chinese government suppressed the protests with an iron fist.

In this case, the monuments associated with the Tiananmen massacre are being removed.
