A winter weather advisory remains in effect across much of central Virginia, including the city of Richmond, as patchy freezing drizzle and freezing fog persist overnight. Residents should prepare for possibly hazardous conditions on untreated surfaces.

The National Weather Service warns that overnight lows will range from 25 to 30 degrees Fahrenheit, creating a significant risk of icy roads and sidewalks. Motorists are urged to exercise extreme caution and allow for extra travel time.

Weekend Forecast: Chilly Temperatures and Potential for Icy Conditions

Afternoon highs on Saturday are forecast to reach the low to mid 40s. Though, the possibility of additional fog and freezing drizzle remains for Saturday night, potentially exacerbating existing icy conditions.

Monday will be cold, with highs in the 30s and overnight lows dipping into the teens and lower 20s. Fortunately, a warming trend is anticipated later in the week, with highs expected to climb back to around 50 degrees Fahrenheit by Thursday.
