Kochi: Producer Varghese Moulan celebrated the huge success of his film Rocketry – The Numby Effect in a different way. Based on the life of ISRO scientist Nambi Narayanan, the film entered the 100 crore club within days. Producer and businessman Varghese Mulan is planning to provide free heart surgeries to 60 needy children under the age of 18 from the profits of the film.
The Varghese Moolans Foundation, the charity arm of the Varghese Moolans Group, and Aster Hospitals, India’s leading hospital group, have joined forces to provide free heart surgeries to needy children below the age of 18. Children will be treated at Kochi Aster Medcity and Kozhikode Aster Mims. Former ISRO scientist Nambi Narayanan will inaugurate the medical camp which will start at CS Auditorium, Angamaly TB Junction on October 30 at 9.30 am in preparation for the scientific activities. Actor Madhavan, who portrayed Nambi Narayanan in the movie Rocketry, District Collector Renu Raj IAS, Roji John MLA and others will participate.
Varghese Moolens Foundation has successfully conducted 201 children’s cardiac procedures in three phases of the Hridaya Sparsham (Touch a Heart) project in collaboration with various hospitals across the country. Among them were two African children who were brought to Kochi and underwent surgery at the request of the President of Liberia. Also more than half a dozen houses have been provided through the Home-Sweet-Home project, marriage funds to dozens of young women through the Kindle-a-Candle project, kidney transplants and educational scholarships through the Fly a Firefly project.

Car, bike, electric scooter, refrigerator, gold coins and gift coupons will be distributed as gifts to the best 100 customers of the year at Mulan’s Hypermart located at Angamaly TB Junction at the closing ceremony at 6 pm after the medical camp. It will be followed by a contemporary art feast titled ‘Surya Krishnamurthy’s Samudra’ at Kala Sandhya organized by Surya Angamali Chapter.

Shah Rukh Khan and Suriya appeared in guest roles in the film Rocketry The Nambi Effect, which was shot simultaneously in English, Hindi and Tamil and dubbed into Malayalam, Telugu and Kannada. Simran played the heroine in the film. The film was written and directed by Madhavan. Hollywood stars like Phyllis Logan, Vincent Riota, Ron Donich and Indian stars like Rajit Kapoor, Ravi Raghavendra, Misha Ghoshal, Gulshan Grover, Karthik Kumar and Dinesh Prabhakar also acted in the movie.

The film was produced by Dr. Varghese Mulan’s Varghese Mulan Pictures along with R. Madhavan’s Tricolor Films and Hollywood production company 27 Investments. The film was also released in international languages like Arabic, French, Spanish, German, Chinese, Russian and Japanese. The film entered the 100 crore club in just a few days and received critical acclaim. The shooting of the movie took place in countries like India, France, America, Canada, Georgia, Serbia and Russia. The cost of the film is over 100 crores.
The theme of the movie is the period of Nambi Narayanan’s life from 27 years to 70 years. Madhavan’s physical changes and makeovers to portray Nambi Narayanan at various ages went viral. Prajesh Sen, the director of films Captain and Valil, is the co-director of the film. Srisha Rai has handled the camera of the film.
