The head of Roskosmos Dmitry Rogozin considers the ideas of the head of SpaceX Elon Musk about mass flights to Mars as a fairy tale.
According to him, “technical people understand that this is an absolute absurdity.” Speaking at SPIEF-21, Rogozin emphasized that one can fly to Mars only through the launch window, and it opens every two years.
Passengers, according to him, will fly like “sprats in a bank” in one direction for 9 months. There they will wait 2 years for the arrival of other missiles with cargo.
“In fact, behind this there is nothing but such a coup,” – added Rogozin. According to him, there are quite a few people in the world who “tell such tales.”
Earlier, the general director of Roscosmos answered a question from journalists about the “correspondence polemic” with the general director of SpaceX and Tesla Elon Musk. According to him, this is “spiritual closeness, it cannot be taken away.” Rogozin claims that he and Musk have “complete agreement.”
