Rogozin invited Europe to launch “Soyuz” from Guiana

by time news

The head of Roscosmos, Dmitry Rogozin, proposed to retrofit the launch complex of Russian Soyuz rockets at the Kourou cosmodrome in French Guiana to a manned level.

“I believe that at the moment it is important for Russia and Europe to find new areas and areas for cooperation. One of such projects could be the retrofitting of the Soyuz launch complex in French Guiana to a manned level,” the head of the corporation wrote in his Telegram channel.

He noted that the use of the Russian Soyuz MS spacecraft could enable European astronauts to independently reach the International Space Station. This would allow the European cosmonautics to quickly enter the club of space powers and save billions of euros.

Thus, Rogozin reacted to reports that Europe is discussing the possibility of developing its own spacecraft for manned flights.
