Roma 2-2: Llorente stole the point in the 90′

by time news

Roma were held to a 90th-minute draw by Fiorentina in Tuscany to stay in 5th place in the battle for a Champions League ticket.

After five consecutive successes, Roma almost found their… teacher in “Artemio Franki”, where Fiorentina led until the 90th minute, when Diego Llorente equalized at 2-2 for the 28th matchday of Serie A.

The Violas were better throughout the match, created many chances and 1-0 to Luca Ranieri’s goal in the 18th minute did not reflect their superiority in the 1st half. In the 58th minute, Hussem Awar equalized in one of the few threatening moments of the “Giallorossi”, but the answer was immediate.

Rolando Madragora restored the lead for Fiorentina and in the 80th minute the home side had a chance for further comfort, but Mile Svilar saved Cristiano Biraghi’s penalty, keeping the tension to the end. This intervention proved to be very important, since Llorente equalized at the end and kept the “Giallorossi” at a distance from the competition.
