In a ceremony that was full of protocol, Colombia’s ambassador to the United Kingdom, Roy Barreras, officially presented his credentials to the new monarch, King Charles III, at Buckingham Palace. Accompanied by his wife, Claudia González, the ambassador was received by the British monarch.

Barreras and his wife arrived at the Palace in a carriage and later officially assumed his diplomatic role with the new English monarch.

“In a warm meeting with His Majesty King Carlos III, we shared our message of a new stage in our bilateral relations. “Colombia is in the center of Latin America and is the future of clean energy, air, water and biodiversity,” Barreras said in his X account, referring to the meeting.

The ambassador added that the event “has a special meaning. This is a world that is changing and not for the better, wars are returning, where the immigration problem is worsening and the environmental issue is really a threat,” Barreras told W Radio.

Following tradition, after the delivery of the credentials, Ambassador Barreras carried out a symbolic gesture by offering apples and carrots to the horses pulling the royal carriage.
