The Irish television network, RTÉ, announced earlier that it will hold the pre-Eurovision “Eurosong 2024” as part of a special broadcast of the talk show “The Late Late Show”. Towards the end of the broadcast, the Irish representative for Eurovision 2024 will be chosen to be held in Malmö, Sweden. The pre-Eurovision will be held on January 26 at 11:35 pm (Israel time).

As part of the local competition, six songs will compete. The songs were gradually revealed starting January 8, during the “Ray D’Arcy Show” broadcast on the Irish radio station RTÉ Radio 1. Now, all the songs in the preliminaries have been revealed and are available to listen to.

The list of contestants in the Irish pre-Eurovision:

  • Erica Cody – “Love Me Like I Do”
  • JyellowL – “Judas”
  • Bambi Thug – “Doomsday Blue”
  • Isabella Kearney – “Let Me Be The Fire”

The band Wild Youth, who won the Irish pre-Eurovision, represented Ireland with the song “We Are One” (in Hebrew: “We are one”). Ireland did not advance to the grand final, having finished 12th in the first semi-final with just 10 points.

This is the fourth time in a row that Ireland has not qualified for the grand final, a negative record that it records with the streak of non-qualification between the years 2014-2017.

Eurovision 2024: This is Ireland’s 57th participation in Eurovision. Ireland joined the competition in 1965 and has won it seven times over the years, the joint record with Sweden. Ireland’s last win was in Eurovision 1996 with the song “The Voice” performed by the singer Aimer Quinn.
