MADRID, 7 Feb. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Russian government has accused the United States and “its allies” on Tuesday of “trying to prolong the war in Ukraine for as long as possible”, while stressing that its forces continue to “spray” all the weapons that have been supplied to kyiv .

“The United States and its allies are trying to prolong the conflict as long as possible. To do this, they have begun to deliver heavy offensive weapons, openly asking Ukraine to take our territories,” denounced Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu.

Thus, it has affected that “the groups of Russian troops continue to pulverize all the weapons and equipment delivered to kyiv, both on the routes for their delivery and in the combat positions”, before estimating the number of Ukrainian soldiers at more than 6,500 killed during the combats registered in the month of January.

Shoigu has stated that “despite an unprecedented delivery of military aid by Western countries, the enemy is suffering significant losses,” including 26 planes, seven helicopters, 341 tanks and 208 drones during the clashes in the first month of 2023.

“Realizing that it will not be possible to defeat Russia through military means, the Ukrainian leadership continues to resort to criminal actions to intimidate citizens in Russia’s new entities,” he said, referring to the annexation in September Donetsk, Lugansk, Kherson and Zaporizhia regions, partially occupied in the framework of the invasion.

In this sense, he has denounced that “the Ukrainian Armed Forces attack residential areas, hospitals, meeting places for the civilian population” and has added that “they commit terrorist acts against public facilities”, according to the Russian news agency TASS.
