A press release from the Centerenergo company notes that today has become a “black day” in their history. The destruction of the Trypilska Thermal Power Plant caused a large-scale fire in the turbine shop, requiring immediate efforts to contain it. This power plant was a key supplier of electricity for several regions, including Kyiv, Cherkasy and Zhitomir.
The Chairman of the Supervisory Board of PJSC Centerenergo expressed optimism about the prospects of overcoming this difficult test. He emphasized that the scale of destruction is unimaginable and exceeds material estimates. Despite this, he expressed confidence that the company can overcome this challenge.
Let us recall that the Trypillya Thermal Power Plant has become the third energy infrastructure facility destroyed as a result of Russian military actions. After the Zmievskaya TPP in the Kharkov region and the Uglegorskaya TPP in the Donetsk region, the loss of all generation of Centerenergo PJSC is 100 percent, which creates serious challenges for the energy security of Ukraine.
