Kyiv: As the invasion of Ukraine draws to a close, Russia has reportedly prepared a plan to seize the eastern region, which includes Luhansk and Donetsk provinces.

It is estimated that a new series of attacks may be carried out as part of this. The army is being deployed from other parts to the eastern region. War experts indicate that heavy fighting will take place in the Luhansk and Donetsk regions in the coming weeks.

The Russian invasion of Ukraine began on February 24 last year. Donetsk is one of four regions that were unilaterally annexed by Russia last September. But here they do not have complete control.
