The Russian Freedom Legion said in an interview with “Express” that it is determined to expel Putin from the Kremlin. His goal: to burn the Russian president in the “flames of revolution.”
The Legion, made up of Russian volunteers, sees itself as the “spark” that ignited the revolution to free Russia from its murderous tyrant.
Alexey Baranovksy, a drone operator with the Legion, said in the interview: “Putin gave Russian citizens no choice but to take him out of the Kremlin at the point of a bayonet. Well, let’s continue on this path.”
He emphasized that only armed rebels like them are able to face Putin’s regime.
Despite Putin’s unbreakable power, the rebels are convinced that his regime will soon be violently overthrown. The Legion’s recent raids have caused significant casualties in the Russian military – and given momentum to the opposition movement.
But can the opposition really overthrow the Russian president? Many Russian political analysts express their doubts, given the internal dissensions and lack of unity. However, drone operator Alexey denied this suspicion to “Express”: the Legion would see explosive growth and seek cooperation with other anti-Putin groups.
There are prominent people on the opposition list as well. For example, Julia Navalny, widow of Alexey Navalny, and Yukos oil tycoon Mikhail Khodorkovsky are in great demand. Through them, the rebels are trying to increase the pressure on the Kremlin – and successfully break Putin’s power.
