As we have already reported, the highlight of the Geographical Dictation-2021 will be an action to find those who answered all questions without a single mistake in previous years. “RG” found out in the Russian Geographical Society who and where these erudites came from.
So, in 2020 there were 528 “round honors” students: 485 from Russia and 43 – dictation participants from foreign countries.
We have the most of these in the Krasnodar (28 people) and Stavropol (25) regions, in the Moscow region (18), in the Sverdlovsk region (15), and in the Khabarovsk region (12).
Abroad, the maximum concentration of scholars is in Ukraine (12 people), followed by Angola (4) and Mexico (3). Two “excellent students” each in Bangladesh, Luxembourg, Panama and Ethiopia.

About 460 thousand people took part in Dictation-2020: in person, remotely and online.
As a result of the action “Write your question for the Geographical Dictation”, the RGS received 430 different tasks from contestants from Russia and foreign countries. The youngest participant is 9 years old, and the oldest is 83 years old. Of all the questions, the experts selected 74 best ones, of which 18 were included in the main version of the dictation.
In 2020, 257,938 participants answered dictation questions at 5697 specially prepared sites. In Russia, the Krasnodar Territory is the leader in terms of the number of sites, Bashkortostan is in second place, and Tatarstan is in third. Abroad: Ukraine, Kazakhstan, China, Turkey and Belarus.
Cosmonauts Sergei Ryzhikov and Sergei Kud-Sverchkov tested their knowledge of geography at the International Space Station. Among the unusual points of the dictation are the ship-museum “Cruiser” Aurora “, the Mission Control Center, the space centers” Yuzhny “at Baikonur and” Vostochny “in the city of Tsiolkovsky in the Amur Region, the open-air ethnopark” Nomad “and others.
