It’s not about industrial emissions

The human factor may not be so significant in the issue of global warming. This conclusion was reached by the members of the Scientific Council of the Russian Academy of Sciences on complex issues of Eurasian economic integration, modernization, competitiveness and sustainable development. The results of the council’s work were recently announced in his telegram channel by its chairman, academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Sergey Glazyev.

It is widely believed that industrial carbon dioxide emissions are the main source of global warming. According to the Paris Agreement of 2015, each of the countries that signed it is obliged to reduce carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere, otherwise by 2100 there will be very few places on Earth suitable for human habitation, the number of natural disasters will increase, associated with a rise in the average temperature on the planet from 1.5 to 2 degrees Celsius. These are droughts, floods, hurricanes, global population migration.

A number of scientists in Russia do not agree with this version. In particular, as Natalya Ryazanova, head of the MGIMO Geoecology Laboratory, Ph.D. in Geography, explained at one time, the initial idea of signing an international agreement by countries to reduce greenhouse gas emissions into the atmosphere was pure PR campaign of the American politician Al Gore. “This is a kind of “arms race”, when humanity is drawn into some major scam, which has no scientific facts under it,” Ryazanova explained. She cited the example of much more serious pollutants on the planet, such as ash from active volcanoes, which in a day can produce as many pollutants, including carbon dioxide, as all of humanity does in a year!

As for the reasons for the emergence of agreements like the Paris one, a number of scientists tend to think that their main goal is to take the planet’s energy under the control of certain entities in order to give them levers of influence on the economies of different countries.

A number of scientists from the Russian Academy of Sciences spoke about additional versions of the increase in temperature on Earth in recent decades.

In particular, Chief Researcher of the Institute for Nuclear Research of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Leonid Bezrukov spoke about the hypothesis of warming of the ocean and the Earth’s surface due to the radioactive decay of the potassium-40 isotope. He argued that the power of its heat flow is about 1 watt per square meter, which is much more than the anthropogenic influence on the atmosphere, “which humanity is trying to fight at the cost of huge costs without real results.”

Bezrukov relies on the theory of the Soviet and Russian geologist, doctor of geological and mineralogical sciences Vladimir Larin about the metal hydride composition of the Earth, due to which it expands with the release of hydrogen and other gases. The decay of the potassium isotope, which, according to Larin’s version, should be quite a lot in the composition of our planet, is the very energy that starts the processes of release of deep gases.

Vladimir Syvorotkin, Doctor of Geological and Mineralogical Sciences, Leading Researcher of the Faculty of Geology of Moscow State University, also spoke about the connection with warming of hydrogen naturally released from the Earth. He noted that hydrogen is one of the main natural gases that destroys the ozone layer on the planet.

The Scientific Council of the Russian Academy of Sciences came to the conclusion that the degassing of the Earth and the decay of the potassium isotope can decisively influence global warming.

However, this scientific hypothesis, which runs counter to the anthropogenic one, requires careful study. Members of the Scientific Council of the Russian Academy of Sciences are planning to apply to the Ministry of Education and Science and the Russian Academy of Sciences in the near future with a proposal to organize an interdisciplinary study of the processes described above.

It is also planned to prepare a report on the “non-economic” factors of climate change for the next international climate conference scheduled for September in the United Arab Emirates.
