Natus Vincere (NAVI) team won the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS: GO) PGL Major computer game tournament. It includes players from Russia and Ukraine. The competition took place in Stockholm.
NAVI includes Alexander Kostylev (s1mple, Ukraine), Valery Vakhovsky (B1t, Ukraine), Denis Sharipov (electronic, Russia), Kirill Mikhailov (BoombI4, Russia) and Ilya Zalutsky (Perfecto, Russia). In the final, they defeated G2 Esports from the representatives of European countries. During the competition, which took place from October 26 to November 7, the Russian-Ukrainian team never lost.
The prize pool of the cyber tournament is $ 2 million. $ 1 million of them will be awarded to the winner. Three other teams from Russia Gambit Esports, Virtus.pro and Entropiq took the third, fifth and ninth places respectively (they also include representatives from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Latvia). For the third place, an award of $ 140 thousand is provided, for the fifth – $ 70 thousand, for the ninth – $ 17.5 thousand.
In October, the Russian-Ukrainian team Team Spirit became the winner of the Dota 2 esports tournament The International. For the victory, the team members received more than $ 18 million, which is one of the largest one-time prizes in gaming disciplines, and not only for esports.
