Kyiv – Ten people were killed in a Russian rocket attack in eastern Ukraine. A five-story building in Chesiv Yar city was destroyed in the rocket attack. The governor of the Donetsk region, Pavlo Kirilenko, responded that 36 people were trapped in the building. Rescue workers are making contact with those trapped under the debris.

Ukraine initially released information that six people were killed, but officials later said the death toll had risen to 10. 12,000 people are now in the city where the attack took place. The city of Chesiv Yar is 20 km away from the city of Kramtosk, which is considered one of the main targets of the Russian army.

Rebels have been fighting Ukrainian forces in the city of Donetsk since 2014. Lysishansk, the center of Ukraine’s defenses in Luhansk, was captured by Russia last week. After that, it was expected that it would take time to start attacking again, but Russia started attacking very quickly.
