Devotees have been barred from visiting the Sabarimala Iyappan Temple from today due to flooding in the Pambai River.

Sabarimala Iyappan Temple in Pathanamthitta District, Kerala will host the Mahavilakku and Mandala Pujas during the months of Karthika and Markazhi. Devotees from various states including Kerala and Tamil Nadu usually wear evening wear and fast to attend this pooja and pay homage to Ayyappa.

With the onset of the month of Karthika, the number of devotees visiting the Sabarimala Ayyappan Temple has increased again.

Meanwhile, Pathanamthitta district has been receiving heavy rains for the past few days. Thus, the Kalki Dam overflowed and excess water was released from it. Excess water from the Kalki Dam has flooded the Pompeii River.

Devotees have been barred from visiting the Sabarimala Iyappan Temple since the Pambai River flooded. The restraining order was issued by Pathanamthitta District Collector Divya.
