A playful onstage moment between singer Sabrina Carpenter and actress Nicole Kidman unfolded as news of Kidman’s divorce became public, highlighting the star’s continued connection to her adopted home of Nashville.
Singer Sabrina Carpenter staged a lighthearted “arrest” of actress Nicole Kidman during her concert at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on Tuesday, Nov.4. The playful interaction occurred as Kidman navigates a highly publicized separation from country music star Keith Urban after two decades of marriage.
Carpenter, 26, playfully “arrested” Kidman, 58, using her signature pink fuzzy handcuffs. “We come to this arena for magic,right?” Carpenter said in a video captured by PEOPLE,referencing Kidman’s widely circulated AMC Theatres ad that precedes many film screenings.
“Oh my goodness,” carpenter exclaimed as the camera focused on a smiling Kidman in the audience, prompting thunderous applause. She then joked, “I expected to find love but not my soulmate.”
following a concert tradition, Carpenter inquired about Kidman’s name and hometown. Kidman responded, prompting Carpenter to quip, “But you live in Nashville, so if things work out between us, then I guess I’m moving to Nashville.”
Carpenter continued the playful banter, referencing Kidman’s upcoming 2024 film, Babygirl. “You’re so Babygirl-I don’t know what to do,” she joked before asking Kidman if she would be her “‘Juno’ girl” for the evening. The onstage moment occurred just days after news broke of Kidman and Urban’s separation.On Sept. 29,PEOPLE confirmed the couple had decided to part ways after 20 years together. Kidman officially filed for divorce from Urban on Sept. 30, according to PEOPLE. The former couple share two daughters: Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14. Kidman is also mother to daughter Bella, 32, and son Connor, 30, from her previous marriage to Tom Cruise.
