Salem/Erod/Coimbatore: Police arrested two members of the STBI who hurled a bottle bomb filled with kerosene at the house of an RSS functionary in Salem. A case has been registered against them under the sections of arson, defamation and acting against religious harmony. Police also arrested Sharif Pasha (40), Mohammad Rabi (42), Mohammad Ismail (30), Mohammad Harris (27) and Khaja Hussain (37) as a precautionary measure.

Police yesterday arrested 4 persons including one from STBI in connection with the bomb blast incidents in Erode. Also, security has been put in place for party offices, houses of leaders of BJP and Hindu organisations.

Similarly, two members of the STBI were arrested in connection with the petrol bomb hurling at the house of a BJP executive in Coimbatore and setting the car of a Hindu Front leader on fire.

A petrol bomb was hurled at the houses of Bharat from Kuniyamuthur Subbulakshmi Nagar and Thiaku (35) from Muthuswamy Serva Road. Based on the investigation conducted in this regard, the police arrested Jesuraj (33) of Madhukarai Ilaoli Nagar and Ilias (38) of Kuniyamuthur Thiruvalluvar Nagar belonging to the STBI party.
