The World Health Organization (WHO) has reported that salmonella is being spread through Belgian chocolate in London. As many as 150 children are reported to be infected. The infection has been reported in 11 countries in particular. A maximum of 65 children were affected in London. The virus has been found in Belgium, France, Germany, Ireland, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain and Sweden.
Of these, 9 children have been admitted to the hospital. No deaths have been reported so far. What is Salmonella? Salmonella is a bacterial infection. It is found in the intestines of humans and animals. Typhoid fever is also caused by these bacteria.
Symptoms, including fever and diarrhea, appear within 2 hours of infection. Early detection and treatment can prevent the condition from getting worse. The main symptoms of this disease are loss of appetite, body aches, fever up to 104 degrees, diarrhea, heartburn, abdominal pain and headache.
The disease is spread through substandard food. It is especially spread through contaminated food, raw dairy products, and undercooked meat. According to the World Health Organization, the disease is currently spread by chocolate. The news has come as a shock to parents.
