RC Lens won without much difficulty at La Beaujoire against FC Nantes in a match counting for the 20th day of Ligue 1.

TOPS

Brice Samba in a great evening

The French international goalkeeper produced a very good performance this Saturday evening, during Lensoise’s 1-0 victory in Nantes. He notably saved his team twice at the end of the first period, first by keeping aside a curling shot from Kadewere (34th) then a header from his teammate Ruben Aguilar with an excellent reflex just before the break (44th). The Lensois goalkeeper responded to the Nantes highlight and kept his clean sheet.

David Pereira Da Costa, man of the match in attack

The Portuguese midfielder also shone this Saturday evening, first with his goal (48th) from a beautiful cross strike, but also with his offensive contribution (five shots, including three on target). He was also very good in midfield, with 22/25 successful passes, 3/5 duels won and 3 successful dribbles. However, he sinned on his attempts to cross (1/5) but made a very satisfactory copy at Beaujoire.

Tino Kadewere, a convincing first half

For his fifth consecutive start with FC Nantes, Tino Kadewere delivered a very positive first half. He got along well with Mostafa Mohamed, scored a goal (finally refused for a slight offside position) and worried Brice Samba on several occasions. However, he was less present in the second half, before being replaced in the 77th minute by Matthis Abline.

Flops

Ruben Aguilar, tough defensively

Without a great Brice Samba, he would have been the first scorer of the match… by scoring against his side. The former Monegasque, positioned on the right side of the Lens central defense, had difficulty containing the multiple breakthroughs of Tino Kadewere on the left side of the Nantes attack. He is also not exempt from all criticism of the restart, since he notably lost nine balls and five duels. He was penalized with a yellow card at the end of the match for a foul on Abdoul Kader Bamba.

Kelvin Amian Adou, clumsy then injured

The Nantes right-back lived through twelve nightmarish minutes on Saturday. After a complicated start to the match (0/1 successful pass, 0/2 duel won, one ball lost), he was taken out on a stretcher, the victim of a muscle injury. Replaced by Pallois, who struggled against the Lensois attackers.

Florent Mollet, rather absent

The FC Nantes handyman did not perform very well this Saturday at La Beaujoire. The former Montpellier player, positioned in midfield alongside Chirivella and Augusto, did not display his technical palette in this match. However, he is at the origin of the corner which almost led to the opening score for Nantes, if Brice Samba had not produced this beautiful save just before the break.
