The President of the Iraqi Football Federation, Adnan Darjal, confirmed that Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani will honor the Olympic team, which is the first supporter of Iraqi sports, pointing to work on developing a preparatory program for the Olympic team in preparation for the Paris Olympics. He also revealed that a meeting will be held with the coaches of the two teams and the Olympic team to discuss the nature of the preparations.
Darjal told the (INA) that, “After the Olympic team returned to the homeland following its great achievement in qualifying for the Paris Olympics, there will be a meeting that brings us together with the Olympic coach, Radhi Shanishil, and the national team coach, Jesus Casas, to agree on the nature of the preparations for the Olympics.”
He added, “The Iraq Stars League is continuing and the clubs are currently in need of their players. There will be a training camp for the national team, but its location has not yet been determined. After it is determined, the national team’s players will be withdrawn from the clubs to perform their national duty, and we are working on developing a special program to prepare the Olympic team.”
He continued, “Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani will receive the Olympic team and the training staff tomorrow, and they will be honored, which is what the government and the Prime Minister have always done, as the prime supporter of Iraqi national teams and sports.”
