Bengaluru: The fans’ wait was not in vain, Team India has given Malayalam player Sanju Samson a chance to be the wicketkeeper in the third and final match of the Twenty20 series against Afghanistan. The fans, who had to be content with seeing Sanju on the bench in the first two T20Is, therefore welcomed Indian skipper Rohit Sharma’s big announcement during the toss with cheers.
Team India made three changes to the playing eleven in the third Twenty20 against Afghanistan. One of these was the return of Sanju Samson in place of Jitesh Sharma in the role of wicket-keeper batsman. Indian captain Rohit Sharma announced Sanju’s name at the Chinnaswamy Stadium during the toss and the gallery was moved. During the toss, fans saw Rohit smiling at the fans cheering for Sanju.

Team India has come to Chinnaswamy aiming to sweep the Twenty20 series 3-0. The team had won the first two T20Is by six wickets. Other changes in India’s playing XI include Kuldeep Yadav replacing spinner Axar Patel and Avesh Khan replacing pacer Arshdeep Singh.
