Jeddah: Saudi Arabia launches new airline The announcement of the new aviation company named “Riyadh Air” (Tayran Al-Riyad) was announced on Sunday evening by Saudi Crown Prince, Prime Minister and Head of the Public Investment Fund, Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

The new “Riyadh Air” is being established by the Public Investment Fund. Riyadh, the capital of the country, will be the main headquarters of “Riyadh Air” operations. Yasser bin Usman Al-Rumayan, Governor of the Public Investment Fund, will be the head of the board of directors of the “Riyadh Air” company. The Saudi News Agency (WAS) also disclosed that the CEO of the “Riyadh Air” company is Tony Douglas, who has over 40 years of experience in the aviation and logistics sectors.

By 2030, “Riyadh Air” will connect the Saudi capital with more than 100 foreign destinations, Prince Mohammed bin Salman announced, announcing the new airline. The Crown Prince continued that the new airline will make full use of Saudi Arabia’s geographic feature of connecting the continents of Asia, Africa, and Europe, and that Riyadh Air will acquire the necessary aircraft fleet.

The new airline aims to further increase the significantly increasing flow of tourists to Saudi tourist destinations and make Riyadh a gateway to international destinations and a key international destination for transportation, logistics, business and tourism.
