Jeddah – Alwatan reported that the Jawaharlal Nehru Directorate has informed the Jawaharlal Nehru Departments of various provinces, airports, seaports and border posts that they have decided to grant entry permission to foreigners whose re-entry visas have expired.
On re-entry, foreign workers who leave Saudi Arabia and do not re-enter the country within the visa period have been subject to a three-year entry ban. Jawasat has canceled the entry ban for those who do not return within the re-entry period. It came into effect from Tuesday.
Earlier, Jawasat banned entry for three years for those who did not return within the re-entry period following the demands of the industrialists. Non-return of workers during the re-entry period has led to various hardships and losses to private companies and institutions. Taking this into account, the businessmen had earlier demanded that such people should be banned from entering.

Those who did not return within the re-entry period were not previously barred from entry. Previously, Saudi embassies abroad stamped new entry visas within the iqama period based on letters organized by the sponsors from the relevant departments. Previously there was no way to extend the re-entry of those abroad. It is now possible to extend the re-entry of those abroad online.
Until now, those who did not return on re-entry were prohibited from coming on a new visa under a different sponsor. Entry was granted on a new visa under the same sponsor.

Those unable to return due to illness or other emergencies could not re-enter the country for three years. But on the basis of the letter organized by the sponsors from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, new entry visas were stamped by embassies and consulates during the iqama period for those stuck abroad after the re-entry period expired.
