Thoothukudi: The police have confiscated tobacco products banned by the Tamil Nadu government worth around Rs 5 lakh smuggled in a minivan from Bengaluru to be sold in Kovilpatti Nagar of Thoothukudi district.
They have also seized the minivan used for the smuggling. In connection with this, the police arrested 3 persons namely Mukesh and Krishnamurthy from Nellai Koondankulam and driver Nagaraj from Krishnagiri district.
