From Corporate Cubicle to Comic Icon
The first “Dilbert” comic appeared in the USA in 1989 and quickly gained international popularity. In Switzerland, the comic strips were featured in the Bernese daily newspaper “Der Bund” until may 2014.
controversy and Self-Publication
In recent years, Adams drew meaningful criticism for making what many considered derogatory, insulting, and racist remarks. These comments led to the cancellation of almost all his comic distribution deals in 2023, prompting him to self-publish his work.
Adams consistently denied allegations of racism, stating he felt misunderstood. He continued to express similar views on his podcast.
According to his ex-wife Shelly Adams, Scott Adams passed away peacefully surrounded by family.
