The number of passengers in Berlin is still a long way from reaching the previous level. Nevertheless, it could be that BER will expand its capacity in the foreseeable future. “Of course we will ask ourselves when we will open Terminal 2,” said Noch airport boss Engelbert Lütke Daldrup after the board meeting on Friday. “We look forward to being able to put T2 into operation”, says Aletta von Massenbach, who will head FBB from next Friday. But it is also clear: the volume of traffic and revenues are still lower than they should be. As things stand now, FBB, which belongs to Berlin, Brandenburg and the federal government, will make a loss of 60 million euros this year.
