The Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC CDMX) has carried out the arrest of a private security employee what tried to steal a safe from the Spanish Commercial Officelocated in the exclusive neighborhood of Polanco in Mexico City.
According to reports from the capital’s department, a report of an attempted robbery was received inside the building located on Avenida President Masaryk and Moliére Streetin the Miguel Hidalgo Mayor’s Office.
After the rapid response of the police and an exhaustive analysis of the video surveillance cameras at the scene, the individual involved in the criminal act was identified, who turned out to be an employee of the private security company hired to protect the property.
The subject was detained at the scene and presented to the Public Ministry agent to begin the corresponding investigations.
Authorities have not provided additional details about the alleged perpetrator or the possible motives that led him to commit the attempted robbery.
Foiled robbery?
The SSC CDMX reported that the arrest occurred when, through radio frequency, the assault was reported on the property located on Presidente Masaryk Avenue and Moliere Street and, upon arrival, they interviewed the workers at the site, who reported that several subjects entered and tried to take cash.
After analyzing the video surveillance cameras at the location, it was learned that an employee of the Private Security company was trying to take a safe that contained cash and several checks, for which he was previously detained at the request of the complainant.
The probable perpetrator, 40 years old, was presented to the Public Ministry agent for investigations, while the complainants were directed to present their formal complaint.
In an information card, the Attorney General’s Office of Mexico City indicated that the Public Ministry agent is part of an investigation folder for the crime of office robbery with violence, registered on the morning of Monday, April 29, at an address located on Presidente Masarik Avenue, Los Morales neighborhood, Miguel Hidalgo mayor’s office.
According to the first investigations carried out by the Territorial Investigation Prosecutor’s Office in Miguel Hidalgofrom the General Coordination of Territorial Investigation, several individuals entered the property and stole cash, as well as a safe.
Personnel from the Spanish Embassy reported the events and the Public Ministry agent initiated the corresponding file, pointing to the CDMX Prosecutor’s Office.
The social representative of the institution ordered the intervention of detectives from the Investigative Police to inspect the place, locate possible witnesses, as well as public and private video surveillance cameras that could have recorded the robbery.
He added that personnel from the General Coordination of Forensic Investigation and Expert Services, experts in the fields of photography, criminology and valuation, were intervened in order to gather evidence.
