Archana was arrested by the police on the 6th of last year when she lodged a complaint with the police when she threatened film director Sridhar with Rs.3 crores. In the last 4 years, Archana has accumulated assets of Rs.30 crores. He has bought a palatial bungalow, imported interior furnishings, luxury cars, 4 expensive high-end dogs and a white horse. State BJP President Babu Singh has accused him of extorting money from 18 MLAs belonging to the ruling Biju Janata Dal. The Congress has also accused Archana of having close links with the ruling party. However, Biju Janata Dal has denied these. This issue has created a big storm in Odisha politics.
