Darkness, rain – a dangerous mixture that was fatal to pedestrians in the Innviertel. A car driver overlooked a group on the side of the road and hit a 38-year-old. The driver stopped immediately and helped to care for the seriously injured man.
At around 5.30 p.m., a 35-year-old from Innviertel drove his car on the L1102 from Geinberg towards Gurten. In the municipality of St. Georgen near Obernberg, Ried im Innkreis district, the driver may have noticed three pedestrians on the right side of the road too late due to the darkness and bad weather, causing him to hit one of the three men with his vehicle. The impact caused a year-old Ukrainian citizen to be thrown into the adjacent field and seriously injured. After initial treatment by the emergency doctor, he was taken to a hospital. His two compatriots, aged 24 and 27, remained uninjured.
