The president of the Electoral Service (Servel), Andrés Tagle, He reiterated that the best option for the elections of regional governors, regional councilors, mayors and councilors next October is do them in two days.
This was stated during the interview he gave to Radio ADN, in which he stressed that “We saw the alternatives before proposing this to the Government and we studied them calmly“.
Delving into the topic, Tagle revealed that if “our current methodology”, the process “would end at 11:00 p.m.”.
In that sense, the president of Servel addressed the opposition’s request to increase voting locations and stressed that even if said number were managed to increase, “What we cannot increase are the Armed Forces and Carabineros. If they were duplicated, the locals would have no control“, accurate.
Why for Servel it is better in two days

“The tables had special stamps to put on the secret chamber and its material in the boxes, for example, blank votes. That was kept in a special room that in turn had a seal that placed it on the delegate. And this room remained in the custody of the Armed Forces overnight,” he recalled.
It will be next October 27, Chileans will elect mayors, governors, CORES and councilors. On that occasion the vote will be mandatory.
