Sethu story for children ‘Amayum Muyalum,’ Children’s Literature

by time news

“What judgment shall he have declared? Guarantee that the verdict will be implemented anyway. That is his nature. Thiruva has no objection.” A story written by famous writer Sethu for children

Last Kerala Birth Day, IE Malayalam started Kutti Kathakoot, which provides children’s stories continuously for a month. The vision for this Katha Month was to have a story for children every day. IE Malayalam had targeted 30 days, but when readers and writers joined hands, Kutti Kathakoot was published for 51 consecutive days.

IE stands alongside Malayalam with great writings from Kerala’s most revered literary geniuses to first-timers and children. It was the confidence given by that support and love that motivated IE Malayalam to continue Kutti Katha Koot this year. I am happy to say that as soon as the idea was put forward, there was a very positive response from the writers.

IE Malayalam continues to focus on presenting not only literature but also other subjects to children.

On November 1, 2018, IE Malayalam section for children started with the novel ‘Perumazhayate Kunhithalu’ written by Malayalam’s favorite storyteller Priya AS and a photo gallery of teenage girl Akiya Komachi.

Within four years, IE Malayalam published about seven hundred works including novels, stories and poems for children. In this, the writings of Priya AS and Maina Umaiban also received various literary awards.

November is also the birth month of Jawaharlal Nehru. Love and respect for Nehru as stories for children is being published by IE in Malayalam for the entire month of November.

Tortoise and Hare

The court of the great emperor Shurasimha Muyal was gathering. A full court. On the right, the Mahamantri and Silbanti. Mahaguru and other darbaris on the left.

Suddenly an old thing came to mind. Once upon a time, a clever tortoise beat a lazy rabbit in a race. Not only was that incident which brought shame to the whole harem celebrated for a long time, but it was included in the textbooks and even small children sang it until recently. Could there be an even bigger scandal?

“Where?” Arisham Punda Thirumanass shouted.

“Slave!” A soldier came running from somewhere and stood with his mouth closed.

“That lazy rabbit should be immediately captured and brought to this court. Let us be relieved if that wicked man is severely punished.”

“Slave!”

“Ponnu, please forgive me.” Suddenly the Maha Mantri intervened. “He has been dead for ten or fifteen generations…”

“Oh, but let’s get his current heir.”

How to find out? When Bhatan was confused, the Mahamantri called him close and told him some tricks. Shaking his head as if in relief, he bowed to His Highness and rushed out.

Before long, the soldier caught and tied up a crippled rabbit.

“Oh, is this the scion of that rascal?” His Holiness shouted. “We order him to be hanged immediately.”

Thiruva did not object. What to do next? The Mahamantri was confused.

“Ponnu, please forgive me.” The Maha Mantri intervened again.

“He is a great patient. Is it not enough to carry out the punishment after the illness is over?”

Thirumanass asked staring at Tantamuyal who was trembling with fear in the royal audience.

“What is your disease?”

“Sir, there was poison in the biryani I got somewhere, I found out after eating it.”

“OK. Let him be cured by the court physician himself. Food should also be served in advance from the palace kitchen itself. That may be the punishment.”

“The order.”

His Holiness sat on the throne with the relief that justice had been done. The Mahamantri also sighed with relief that a messy problem was put away for the time being.

After some days, the fat rabbit was brought to the court.

His Majesty shook his head as if he was satisfied with his eyes.

‘Bale bhesh!’

Then the rabbit emperor Shurasimha sat down on his Kanaka throne and prepared to deliver the verdict.

To hear that judgment, the whole audience is sitting swollen. Here I am!

I really don’t know what that fate is. This Emperor is the one who judges anything.

What judgment would he have pronounced? Guarantee that the verdict will be implemented anyway. That is his nature. There is no opposite to Thiruva.
