Severe weather is heading for Belle Province
Violent storms, strong winds and rain will travel up to Ontario and continue their way to Quebec due to a very specific atmospheric current.
“The jet stream is a current with powerful winds, it is a transport, it will carry all air masses from the west to the east. As the jet stream moves, it can bring precipitation, moisture and even light from the central United States to our home,” explained meteorologist Nicolas Lessard.
What to expect in Quebec?
Although the day will be quite pleasant this Saturday, the sky will be changeable at the end of the day. Thunderstorms and several millimeters of rain are expected in the Témiscamingue areas.
The storms will then continue towards the east of the province during the night from Saturday to Sunday. A few lightning strikes are possible in Montreal, in the south of Quebec, but the disturbances will continue their path towards the Gaspésie during the day and will decrease in intensity. On the other hand, the entire province will be in the water this Sunday.
The weather will continue intermittently on Monday 29 April with rain and may last until Thursday 2 May.
