Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Alhasan became the first wicket-taker in Twenty20 international cricket. After his brilliant performance in the second match against Ireland, he became the highest wicket-taker in Twenty20.

The player took 5 wickets giving away 22 runs in four overs. With this, Shakib’s wickets in Twenty20 have become 136. The player surpassed New Zealand’s Tim Southee who won 134 wickets. Shakib made his Twenty20 debut for Bangladesh against Zimbabwe in 2006 and has played 114 matches so far. Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan with 129 wickets, Ish Sodhi with 114 wickets and Lasith Malinga with 107 wickets are in the third, fourth and fifth positions respectively.

Shakib was the best player of the match as he remained unbeaten on 38 runs. Bangladesh won the match by 77 runs. Shakib is the star of Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL.
