She turned to Russia for help: in Jordan they fear an Iranian intensification on the border with Syria

Russia and Jordan reached agreements on increasing cooperation on the Syrian front. The decision was made in light of the increase in Iranian power near the Jordanian-Syrian border, which is responsible for an increasing number of drug smuggling in recent times.

Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Al Safadi spoke out on the issue and said that “coordination is necessary, this is the focus of the extended discussions with Russia. We need to neutralize the potential dangers of instability in the region of southern Syria.”

Meanwhile, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, who is currently visiting Jordan, met King Abdullah II, when the two discussed efforts to end the conflict in Syria.
