Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has sent a letter to the country’s President Israel-Hamas battle, reside | Israel accuses Sánchez of inciting "genocide of the Jews" for recognizing Palestine”>Mahmud Abbas expressing solidarity with the people of Palestine. This letter was sent to Mahmud Abbas on March 31.

In the letter, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said, “I am using this opportunity to convey my sincere condolences to the government and the fraternal people of Palestine for the tragic loss of innocent lives, including children, women and men, during the continuous massacres by Israel in Gaza and the West Bank since October 8 last year.”

“I acknowledge receipt of the letter addressed to me on March 19 through your envoy and the general secretary of the Fatah Central Committee. I am aware of the Israeli Prime Minister’s ‘Day After’ post-war plan for Gaza and support your deep concern about it. The plan is an affront to the rights of the Palestinian people and a violation of international law and treaties. It is disappointing that the plan has failed to provide any real solution to this protracted conflict. Rather, it aims to suppress legitimate Palestinian national aspirations in Gaza and perpetuate Israeli control over the land.’

In this context, we reiterate our firm position that we are against Israeli plans to reoccupy any part of Gaza. ‘

In the letter, Sheikh Hasina also said that we also think that this conflict cannot be solved by military means. Based on UN Security Council resolutions and International Court of Justice mandates, it is time to implement a credible process to resolve the ongoing crisis, which can only be achieved through a two-state solution with Palestinians and Israelis living side by side.

‘As a nation of occupation and genocide we truly feel the plight of the occupied and oppressed Palestinians. Thus, we are expressing our full solidarity with the Palestinian people on the international platform, condemning the Israeli occupation and advocating for a just solution based on international law. As Muslim brothers we remain committed and steadfast in our support to your legitimate aspirations for an independent state with 1967 borders as its capital in East Jerusalem. In this context, we reiterate our commitment to support your efforts for Palestine’s full membership in the United Nations through our support in all international forums and beyond.’

‘I reiterate our call for a long-term ceasefire and call on all concerned to exercise restraint.’
