Shizuoka Concert Series Offers Inclusive Musical Experience for Families

A new participatory concert series launching in Shizuoka promises a welcoming and engaging musical experience for families with children of all ages, even the very youngest. The events, organized by NPO Oniku Premama Party and FunFenFant, aim to create a relaxed atmosphere where both parents and children can freely enjoy music, movement, and quality time together.

A Space for Musical Exploration

The concerts, scheduled for March 24th and 25th, 2026, at the Arsentia Guest House in Shizuoka City, will feature professional musicians performing a diverse repertoire ranging from classical music to beloved nursery rhymes. Unlike traditional concerts, these events encourage active participation. Attendees are invited to sing, move, and even embrace spontaneous moments – “Even if you cry, it’s okay to move around energetically,” organizers state. Families are also welcome to capture memories through videos and photos throughout the performance.

Performance Details and Accessibility

Performances will be led by trumpeter Natsue Wakasugi and pianist Nanae Sugiyama. The schedule includes sessions from 10:15 AM to 1:45 PM and 1:15 PM to 1:45 PM each day, with a capacity of 40 parent-child pairs per session. The venue, located a five-minute walk from the south exit of JR Shizuoka Station, is accessible via elevator. Parking is limited, and attendees are encouraged to carpool.
